Sable Homes installs roads in two Rockford neighborhoods
Sable Homes is making progress on two neighborhoods in the award-winning Rockford school district as the Rockford-based builder works to keep up with a strong demand for housing in West Michigan.
Sable Homes crews recently installed paved roads in the Crowning Acres and Crowning Edge developments, near Edgerton Ave. NE. Crowning Acres has 20 home sites available and Crowning Edge has five home sites. Both developments have easy access to U.S. 131 and are attracting first and second-time home buyers who work and commute in the Grand Rapids area, as well as several retirement-aged buyers.
Earlier this year, the real estate website Trulia named the Grand Rapids the hottest market in the nation for its affordable housing, growing economy and large population of prospective millennial home buyers, a third of whom surveyed said they planned to buy a home by 2018.
Noticing the growing need for new housing, Sable purchased land last year and is currently building and selling houses in 11 developments throughout Kent, Barry and Allegan counties. Sable recently posted the strongest first quarter in its 20-year history, selling 51 houses, a nearly 60 percent increase over the same period last year.
Sable Homes offers 10 floor plans and Freedom Foundation© technology, which provides barrier-free living for individuals who are physically challenged. Its homes are built with volatile organic compound (VOC) free paints and toxin free flooring glues, WhisperGreen fans for clean air exchange and ventilation, and a VOC absorbing gypsum board drywall which reduces VOC levels in the air.
Last week, the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids (HBAGGR) and Cosmopolitan Home Magazine awarded Sable Homes four Awards of Excellence in the 2016 Spring HBA Parade of Homes. The Awards of Excellence program recognizes Parade home builders in a variety of categories: Best Kitchen, Best Floor Plan, Best Curb Appeal, and Best Interior Elements in the various price ranges. Sable Homes swept all four categories for the $150,000-$200,000 house price range.
